Let's try something new – a scavenger hunt! I wanted to create an activity that anyone can join, that gets us out and about and encourages us to become more present and observant to our surroundings. Any chance to nurture our creative side is a win in my books! 😍
Starting next week, participants will have to get out there to find and photograph 12 different items over the course of four weeks. And to inspire a little bit of healthy competition, any members who find and photograph all 12 items will go into a draw to win a gift voucher! We will also have a Community Vote prize for best photo! So, TWO gift vouchers are up for grabs! 😲🙌

~ As per our Community Guidelines, the SANE Forums remain anonymous at all times. Please be wary, and don’t share any photos with information that may reveal identity or location (e.g. street names, wider shots of houses, number plates, landmarks or recognisable geographical features, or ANY faces, even if it’s not your own). We will try to ensure that items in the list will avoid this risk ~
How do I join?
To help keep us all moving at an even pace, scavenger hunt items will be released in lots of 3 over the next four weeks. All you need to do to get started is to get out and get snapping! Share your photos here in this thread – and be sure to post with the corresponding number for which item from the list it represents!
Instructions for posting photos on the forums are below. If you’re having any issues with uploading photos, get in touch with us via team@saneforums.org and we can assist you further. We’d also highly recommend subscribing to this thread (at the top left of this post is an ‘Options’ button. Click to see a drop-down menu – about halfway down, click ‘Subscribe’ to get email updates) so that you know when new list items are posted! 😎
🌟 Winners and Prizes 🌟
There are two prizes, each will be a $20 electronic gift voucher. The first of the prizes is selected randomly from amongst all members who successfully complete the scavenger hunt. At the end of the month, any member who submitted a photo for all 12 items will have their names placed into a random draw to determine the winner.
The second is a community vote prize for Best Photo – members can nominate others’ photos to go into the running. At the end of the hunt, the photos nominated will be reposted, and the community invited to choose which photo they like best by clicking the ‘support’ button. The photo with the most supports will be the winner (in the event of a tie, two winners may be selected).
(Side note: SANE Staff are invited to participate - however, they won't be allowed to win the prizes; we want this to be for you guys after all!)
➡️ Some Ground Rules ⬅️
- Do NOT endanger yourself or anyone else in the efforts of taking a photo
- One photo per person per list item - to go into the running for the voucher prize, you must have found all 12 items!
- All photos must be original – no google image search, no AI generated images!
- Keep guidelines in mind – especially regarding anonymity, but also regarding being respectful of images others have shared
- Photos must be a clear representation of the list item, and obvious to other viewers
Instructions for uploading photos
On Mobile:
- Hit the ‘Reply’ button
- Between the title text box and the post text box, click the ‘upload image’ button as circled in image above
- Choose to upload from your library, or to take photo
- Select or take your photo, then wait for the upload
- Add context by tapping anywhere in the text box and start typing (e.g. which scavenger hunt item number, plus any other info you want to add)
- Press post!
On Web Browser:
- Click the reply button
- Click the camera symbol to open the photo uploading window as circled in image above
- Click ‘browse’ and navigate to your photo on your computer (or drag and drop if preferred)
- You can add a caption within the photo uploading window – once your photo has finished uploading, a small text box will appear underneath. You can also add context (e.g. which scavenger hunt item number, plus any other info you want to add) after you hit the pink ‘Upload’ button on the uploading window by clicking inside the text box and hit return or enter to make a new line
- Click pink 'Done' button to finish uploading
- Hit Post!
