Morning Peoples. Very cold here. The outside thermometer showed about -4, the inside one was a bit warmer at zero.... Had a busy day yesterday so the woodstove wasn't started, but we do have portable column heaters for the bedrooms. Have been warming up with a hazelnut mocha and a bikkie.
Frost is pretty... ice crystals on leaves and woodchips, starbursts of frost on the car windscreen, even the muddy puddles beside the road have bits of ice sculpture in them, but really, the best part about a cold day like today will be getting that stove up and burning!

Will be lovely to get the woodstove up and running @Smc. I am really grateful that we have a split system air con as I don't think I could have managed the wood heater on my own when emotionally stretched, but the wood heater seems to give off a different quality heat that is much nicer and we have used it more this year than we did last winter - don't quite know how to articulate what I mean by 'nicer heat'.

I fully understand what you mean by nicer heat @Former-Member, Im not a fan of electric heaters as they dry out the air more but I do like wood fired heaters.
Have been contemplating recently getting a new kero heater. Found somewhere that sells them, not in town is all so have to wait till the next time I am down that way .

I can picture them coming fresh out of the wood fired oven.
