Re: Battles

@Dreamy yeah, it wasn't a nice way to wake up. My head was pounding and I feel a bit icky in the belly. I didn't know whether to reach out or not because it's super late...

Ouch...a one handed hand stand. Lol. A hand stand landed me in hospital once. I was showing off and doing a handstand push up, I fell backwards - hit my head in the ground, it bounced off, then hit again. I ended up with concussion. Lol.

Re: Battles

@MissinTooth I'm usually around late and never mind chatting. But if you need to reach out here and there's noone around you can always tag the moderators, they are also helpful to chat to.

It was a pretty funny sight, I knew instantly that I'd broken it but the teacher that I had was like no it's fine and will only be bruised, you can rest for a bit then start writing again, once I finally got taken to hospital by my mum (had to wait for her to catch a bus down to the school over an hours trip then take the bus to the hospital) the doctors confirmed it was broken and said that if I'd tried to write the bone would have popped out through my skin. Handstands can be dangerous but I still have fun doing them. Ouch not surprised that you ended up with concussion. Lucky we can look back and laugh at these things now lol

Re: Battles

@Dreamy I had a similar experience...

The school nurse tried to tell me that it wasn't broken and I argued black and blue that it was. She called my Nan who came and picked me up, took me to get an x-ray and yep...it was broken. Broke one bone, bent the other. I did a good job of it.

Re: Battles

@MissinTooth so frustrating when they don't believe us. Ouch you definitely did a good job. Was it your writing arm? Mine was lucky I discovered i am ambidextrous so I can write with both, the school said they would give me a laptop so I could do my work on that but they never did so I just wrote with my left hand until I could use my right again.

Re: Battles

@Dreamy it was my right arm, so yeah, my writing arm. I had a half cast because the doctors had plans of operating to break the bent bone, but my Mum wouldn't allow it to happen. So...I have a shorter, weird bent arm now that gives me grief in the cold with arthritis. I had to have scans on it a few years back because the dr's found a lump near where I had melanoma. It turns out the broken bone healed on top of each other and I have a lump of healed bone formed around it.

I had to learn to write with my left hand so that I could do my school work.

Re: Battles

@MissinTooth i had a half cast until I started showing off that i could pull it off and then put it back on, then they put a full cast on me 😂. Oh that sucks that she wouldn't allow it to happen, can imagine it would be uncomfortable in the cold weather, the cold doesn't help arthritis that's for sure.

Whys it always the writing arm 😂

Re: Battles

@Dreamy I have no idea...lol.

I'm going to try and go back to sleep. Thank you for sitting with me and helping me to feel like I'm not over here alone in the dark.

Re: Battles

I know it's early and I'm sorry to be so annoying but is there a @moderator around please? I woke up in a panic and was hit with intense thoughts and urges, I've been trying to calm myself down but i was struggling so I tried reaching out for support but I've been left feeling very hurt after the experience.

Re: Battles

Hey @Dreamy, we are here 🙂 Sorry to hear things are rough at the moment.
