it happens to me all of the time.....eventually someone misunderstands my intent...
it is not that person...
it is me..
I miss something in my responding...as I really am enjoying the connection...
it also triggers a life time of trying to do and say the right thing in the right way with a controlling family who have always been unable to accept me for who I am...
So I am not upset with you at all @eth ...again I hope that I have not upset you....
I will come back and look at your you tube posts another time when I am more settled...
I have been looking forward so much to hearing of your travels and stories...
I appreciate you letting me know that you did read my whole post.
I shall leave you all in peace now...

Thanks for visiting this morning, @Sophia1. Take it easy. As far as I can see there really is no problem here. But I understand the desire for retreat sometimes anyway. Hope today brings some peaceful and warm moments your way.

Hoping to see you again soon @Sophia1
@Mazarita I've been to this festival 3 out of the last 4 times it's been on. It's a special one, one of the biggest indigenous festivals that happens (2nd only to The Garma). I also went about 15 years ago when it was a bit smaller but just as special. I met my good friend there 3 years ago so it was wonderful to go with her again.
@Appleblossom I've seen the central Australian women's choir too. Very special. It does show that the missions out there in the past still have a strong influence in a positive way.

Great with being a regular at the festival, hope you get to go next year too, @eth. Personally I find a big trip once a year a reasonable expense and worth the effort to catch up with mum, friends, family and culture down south. Although, having said that I may not get down again within the next year as mum is now planning to come up here again for our next visit. I think your friend who you met at the festial came to visit you earlier in the year? That's great when it's a two way street. My good friend from down south is also likely to visit later in the year. It's a great break for her from the cold. She works a job in the snow during winter.

Hello Mazy
Yep, bit of frost in the early hours of the morning. It's funny, most of the year I battle extreme heat, I joke in my head . . . here comes my whole week of winter It really only happens in the middle of the night & early morning, once the sun comes up it's a beautiful day
I've got the young lad coming to walk what I'd like to be the back boundry of the fence, I might have to change my ideas a little as it's pretty uneven ground in a couple of spots - most of my land is as flat as a board, but just where I'd like to put a fence there's been a dam dug, a dam that's been dry for years but it's made a bump on the surface
Soooooooo good to talk to you But I'm going to hop offline now, hope the creative juices are flowing through your latest project {I'm sure they are!}
Love you Maz

Sounds like Murphy's Law in operation with where you want to put your fence, @Exoplanet. Hope there's a good alternative. A walk with the young fella sounds like just the ticket. I've got to get myself back out on the beach as soon as I can, after getting into bad lazy habits while I haven't been allowed to over the past couple of months (physio orders). Now I haven't got the motivation, lol. But it will happen pretty soon I think (how's that for procrastination, lol). Hope your day goes smooth and sweet. Love you too!

She sounds like an amazing person, @eth. So glad you have such a good friend, even if at a bit of a distance. Good that it will be less of a distance before long. Similar with my friend down south that I always visit out in the country when I'm there. She was a park ranger some years ago and was centrally involved in fighting the huge fires down there at that time. She's also into lots of alternative approaches to living. These days she makes beautiful hand-dyed fabrics, using all eco materials and printing from leaves and other plant materials. We've known each other since I was 13, but not always in a lot of contact over the years. The friendship has really blossomed again in the past decade or so.

Beautiful @Mazarita. I believe that even one special friend in our life currently is precious and we're lucky if we have 2 or 3. Really close friendships like this are as rare as hen's teeth. I count you as one such friend xx

Thank you so much, @eth. I feel the same.
I hear you on the expense of these trips. I am rather relieved that mum is coming up here this time and I won't spend as much money hopefully (though I do like to shout her for as much as possible while she's here, since it's expensive for her too). My savings have dropped by 3000 in the past year to eighteen months. That leaves about double that as my life savings. Not very well set up for older years, will have to cross that bridge when I get to it really.

Mods have deleted my post about my friend as they think it's too identifying of her. I totally disagree with that decision and am very cranky now. There's no way what I said would identify her. Not sure if you saw what I wrote or not @Mazarita. This is the 2nd time things have gone haywire here for me this morning.
