Living with Ourselves

Re: Living with Ourselves

Now that is a brilliant idea....something that I do and forget that I am...

I am not surprised though....speaks realms about how compassionate...considerate...understanding you are Mrs Shaz....

I shall wonder off to check that it has not yet disappeared in cyberspace....Heart

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 ....👋💕

Have you checked in your Profile page ?  The draft may have (should have ?) auto-saved .....

Re: Living with Ourselves

My S2 is up today ..... in daylight hours .... working on assignments and has submitted two ..... 🎉

Its happening !!

Can’t “count all my chickens”yet cos they ain’t all hatched ..... but it’s such a relief.  His Dad is back in two days and I am out of here again, and this process really needed to get up and going before that happens .... and it is, it is .....

He was also awake by 11am after not sleeping till 5am, and although the didn’t get up for a while, he’s still getting half a day into daylight hours .....

Breathing ....

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 I will miss you on the forum, but understand if you feel the need to take a break.  I dont respond to every post, but I usually appreciate the thoughtfulness and care you put into your posts.  I read your post on the worry thread and felt very sad that you felt treated that way.  I post on both sides too, and it took a while for me to find my way. You have been through so much you dont need a sense of being ignored or rejected.

Glad that you are doing your physical therapy.  It can be terrible going to pool in winter and going through change rooms etc ... yes, but nice in the water and good if you heal.

@Adge

I stayed away from physios after one was very nasty to me.  It took 10 years to get over the shock ... but my current clinic allowed me to see one.  I just went once or twoce per year to see if they had any new ideas, exercises etc ... they were young and horrified that I was so nervous of physios and tried hard to change my view of the profession.

Take Care All

Re: Living with Ourselves

I hope @Sophia1 meant she was taking a break from the forums just for a little while today @Appleblossom ....

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with a physio like that.  I think most of us are “once bitten, twice shy” with professionals.  You go to them expecting empathy and care, and thankfully, that is what most offer .....

Re: Living with Ourselves

Thanks @Sophia1

Thanks @Zoe7

Yes I have health cover extras (not hospital). Physio has a combined annual limit (with massage & natural therapies) - I've used it all up on remedial massage.

Thanks for reminding me Zoe - a Care Plan from G.P can include a Physio. I used that to see a Dietician, several years ago (need to see one again) - but I've not used it to see a physio. I probably need to do that.

I've not seen a Dietician in several years, since my last bowel surgery - I really should follow that up again, considering that I've remained very under-weight. I don't digest or metabolise my food properly, since the surgeries. Recently GP said I have IBS, after 3 years.

Since you mentioned high blood pressure Zoe (I'm sorry to hear), I also have that now too - along with Sleep Apnoea, CPTSD, Scoliosis back pain, & Irritable Bowel Syndrome (caused by surgeries)

Dr never mentioned anything to do about my high blood pressure - despite him saying that it's of concern.Because it's not come back down in about 12 months (like it always used to).

It sounds like you find swimming helpful for your recovery @Sophia1 That's good, it's supposedly very beneficial.

I'm virtually a non-swimmer, due to lack of upper body strength, & lack of confidence. Sorry to say, I never liked being in water much, since being rescued 3 times (near-drowning) when much younger - even though I had lots of swimming lessons, after that.
