Aside from the cold and constant rain, it was actually pretty good. I re-connected with people I had met before, and also met some new people. There was about 14 people staying the whole weekend, and about another 4 came during the day. We stayed in a lovely retreat in the hills on a dead end road, and below the buildings was a small brook.
We had lots of activities planned, and dinner and dish duties was rostered among us. I helped make a hot breakfast this morning with bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns and fruit salad. It was well received which was nice.
We all left before lunch today, but over the weekend we had little paper bags that we put our names on, and other people put little 'warm, fuzzy' notes in. We weren't allowed to peek until we took them home. I got quite a few really nice ones, which I'll keep to bolster my spirits from time to time.
I hit a low spot yesterday, when I wondered if it was worth it, and whether I should leave, but I am glad I stayed. By last night and this morning, I had some geniune laughs. I also presented a workshop for others by teaching about essential oils, getting the participants to make a hand cream and teaching them have to give someone else a nice hand massage. I got nice feedback about that.
The only thing I didn't like was the occassional discussion about how to 'handle' negative people. People were critical of those with mh issues (prob the reason for my low mood) and moody people, and felt they brought other people down in group meetups. I understood thier concerns, but I wanted to tell them they people with mh issues can't always help being negative, and can't automatically 'cheer up'.
But I am glad to be home, the cats couldn't care less if I was home or not, they just wanted food, but now they are full of dinner and dozing at the bottom of the bed. And it's also nice to come back to my other family I was missing too, especially yesterday.

It sounds like you had a very good time overall @Sans911 - I am so happy for you Hon. Keeping those nice things written will definitely help to boost your spirits when you need it - great idea to keep hold of those
I understand why people think negatively about people with MI - it is hard to explain just how low one can be unless you have been there - that is why people like you are so important in changing perceptions - what a wonderful ambassador you are for all of us here

Wow @Sans911, sounds like it was overall a good weekend and glad you stayed till the end.
It was good to re-connect with people. Can you keep connected with any of the after this weekend?
That paper bag idea sounds like a really nice thing to do and a really good memory and something to take away from the weekend. Hopefully you can use them notes.
I think your cats are like Izzy, food it their first priority!!
Gald you are home too, I missed you

@Sans911I am hoping so. I have had another med change to taking something extra during the day (that I already take in morning and night) to hopefully help with mood.
Am looking forward to re-connecting too and having a good chat at some time too
