Re: Adventures with D

Good night ClaireHeart @outlanderHeart

Why do you think you have to give Delicious back?

Sleep well, peace be with you XxX

Re: Adventures with D

@Former-Member

i had the farrier out the other day and she told me she has only limited movement in one of her joints of her feet. one of the main ones too.

its posible the old injury she has that no one had checked mind you, she may have done a tendon which means she may just be a very expensive paddock ornamant.

as much i dont want to give her back the amount of money ill spent on her care and upkeep and treatments and not being able to do anything, id be able to afford another horse next year or the year after one that i can ride and have in good condition.

i ahve to weigh up my options. ive got a body worker coming in the next few weeks so if she thinks ill never be able to do anything with her i may have to give her back. if its something that i can do specific exercises on her and treatments and she can be ridden within the next year ill keep her.

i suppsoe everything is riding on this body worker assessment and if she cant tell me then ill ahve to get a vet and that bill will be massive because he will want to do xrays and ultrasounds and thats thousands of dollars.

so im abit devo atm.

i dont really know what to do, i dont want to get a bond up and have an awesome relationship and then ahve to give her back. we alreayd ahve a bond. no halter and lead required now she follows me everywhere

Re: Adventures with D

Ah, I see @outlanderHeart Do you think that was known when she was offered to you? Such a shame, but I understand you have to be realistic. It's a shame, but I guess that's what happens when a horses owner picks up and moves overseas and isn't there to see any injuries.

Sending lots of love to youHeart

Re: Adventures with D

all good things must come to an end i suppose Niqua. i dont deserve her anyway

and no no one knows about her injuries. they justt treated the wound with creams and coverings but didnt get a vet which would ahve told them about any tendons or anything being damaged becasue it was fresh. now to find it all out have to go through the works

im abit annoyed really considering the person who took her on before for a few weeks was a vert nurse, she should have known to get a vet straight away while it was all still open

Re: Adventures with D

I feel for both of you in this partnership @outlander. You're going to miss D and the unconditional love she could have offered you. D will miss out on having a loving, responsible owner to care for her.

I am also worried about her future. Horses with injuries often don't have the best lives.

Re: Adventures with D

ive got 3 weeks until i can get an assessment done on her @Queenie i can only hope that ill be able to work with her- i knew this wasnt as simple- it was too easy- i never get easy horses-NEVER!

3 very long weeks until i can get her looked into. i really want it all to work out.

she wont go to the doggers or anything i can guarentee that even if i keep her and then pass her on as a compainion horse but must stay on the property.

she can walk fine on it, shes just stiff at the moment and without knowing the extent of damage i dont know how much pain she is in either.

at least shes happy, someone told me today that this is best shes looking since shes been here, she more friendly and looks overall happy and healthy

Re: Adventures with D

I'm glad she'll be guaranteed a good life, even if you cannot work her @outlander. I hope with all my heart that she comes sound and you can continue your great partnership together. Her looking healthy and happy, and getting comments about it is a credit to you Heart

Re: Adventures with D

yes @Queenie her best interests are always at heart even if i do have to give her back or pass her on to another person itll be good home guarenteed. and also no horse dealers or anything will be allowed to even look at her so yes definetly good if not great home guarenteed. otherwise she stays with me until then.

yes im glad people are seeing she looks happy and healthy. thats what i want for her

Re: Adventures with D

my horse is soo spoilt!!!

she decided today while i was fixing her rug up she would take a nice big bite!

Re: Adventures with D

i hardley like horses anymore. i thought this new horse would help me but i literally went there today, got her in changed rugs-making sure she doesnt bit me again, waited in the car then left. thats not like me. i know it was windy but i usually sit on the chair next to feed yards or sit on the floor while she eats. i havent made a connection with her for a few days now

whats wrong with me- its not her fault

why cant i reconnect

i jsut dont want to eb there and when i am i want to get away as quick as possible- its not like me to do that
