Thank you @Former-Member, beautiful beautiful prayer, anointed. And @Smc - thank you. Didn't know Geoff Bullock had bipolar, sure explains a lot. Last Sunday our guest speaker, a minister of a church elsewhere, he shared he too has BiPolar. I think sadly there may be much MH stigma / abuse even in the church. I liked how he talked on how each and every one of us are far from perfect. We ALL have sin and scars... There is no devide or competition. Always loved that saying F&H once shared:
WE'RE ALL
JUST W A L K I N G
EACH OTHER HOME
Prayers for @Shaz51 at this time too.
"I once thought I was the only one suffering - then I took my eyes off myself"
God, please help my unbelief xox

@Former-Member, the rural-city-suburb that our church is in has some odd demographics too. The bit the building is in is fairly middle class; a more picturesque part of the suburb a little bit to the south is definitely upper class; and in the western part of it is a "downmarket" area that was originally a government housing estate, and still has a lot of housing commission properties in it. Our church membership would be mostly (not all) middle class, but the members come from a wider area than the immediate suburb. Probably from a 30-40 km radius. We've got a lot of Chinese students and migrants in our membership, which I really enjoy. There's something nice about being able to pick out someone a couple of rows behind you singing in Mandarin. Every tribe, every tongue...
Some of the members are involved in a program that supports "at risk" primary school kids in the area, and others have connections with local homeless services and similar, so at least there's pretty strong "feelers" going out to people who are in hard spots.
A friend of ours who retired from a senior clerical position in the Anglican church reckoned that the places to get to know people were the town's supermarket and pub, so guess where he'd make a point of dropping in when he visited a new place. It seemed to work, too.

I'm not much of a pub person myself, @Former-Member. Cafes can be a similarly useful "get to know people" place, unless it's a tourist town and they're full of visitors... although even that tells you a lot about a place.
