Re: Craft Corner

It's a bit frustrating when you try a few times and don't seem to be able to get it @outlander.

I'll have a look when the pic and clip are up 🙂

ok @CheerBear this is the youtube clip im using. ive got the pattern ok, but when it comes to doing the final 3 then slip stitch (as youll see) it look like she has 4 instead of 3 there should be 6 not 7 in the section, when i join mine up it looks like it takes my 3rd crochet stitch and makes the gap too wide making it look like instead of having 3 ive only got 2

Re: Craft Corner

Do you mean in the corners in each round of the video @outlander? I watched it and could see six (2 groups of 3 double crochets with chain 2 in between). These are the six I see.

Are you able to upload a pic of yours and where you're having trouble? It might be easier to see what's going on that way.

Re: Craft Corner

I just uploaded it @CheerBear

So ive done the chain thrn slip stitch it together. Chain 3 do the 3 trebles, chain 2 then keep going like that all the way around. Now when that row is finished and its time to slip stitch again before chaining 3 to start the next row hers in neat so you can see the 4 groups of 3 but on mine it looks like 2, 3 , 3 , 4. Like my first stitch has gone to the last group of 3 and left the big gap in the wrong place.
Hoping this makes sense. Hopefully the pic comes up quick tonight so you can see what i mean

Re: Craft Corner

This is it before the slip stitch. It looks like maybe one to many chains? But it is 3 like they said...2018-08-28 21.48.31.jpg

Re: Craft Corner

I think that what's going on is that the chain 3 that you did at the start is there to look like a double/treble crochet. It's not technically a double/treble but it's what you can do to start a round. Chains don't look exactly the same as stitches but with more rounds they can blend in and be less noticable. That's all looking pretty normal in the second pic of yours.

Where maybe it's not looking quite right in the first pic is possibly in where you are placing the slip stitch. If you move it over a bit does it decrease the gap? There are lots of places to poke the hook and that may change how it looks. (Does that make sense - my head is all scattery sorry!).

The second pic you posted looks pretty spot on to me. If from there, you do your chain stitches next (the ones in between the 2 groups of three), then watch which part of the stitch the slip stitch goes into (seeing if moving it changes the way it looks), I think you're on the right track.

Sorry that may not help at all and I hope it hasn't confused you!
