Through One's Eyes

Re: Through One's Eyes

@outlander
I think your Gizmo is cute. When you shade outlander, do you colour the area, then rub the paper with your index finger until the shading is what you want it to be?
Another tip, put pencil shavings on the spots you want to shade & lightly rub the shavings on the drawing until you have the look you want? Blow any shavings left on that spot off so that you do not make a mess on your drawing.
You can always use a pencil rubber to correct anything you don't like until you get it to your liking, ok?
I hope I explained shading ok for you as I never typed it before. I just do it.

Re: Through One's Eyes

thanks heaps for the tips @Faith-and-Hope re the other thread.

im going to add a ladybeetle and do the outline. not too sure about the yellow background yet....but whats thr worst thats going to happen? im not going to like it and will know not to do it next time right...

Re: Through One's Eyes

Exactly @outlander.

You can see in Chat Noir that he has used burnt orange in the background too. Have a look at a lot of his poster work, rather than his original style, and see what else he has done to balance the images and the bold colour backgrounds.

Picasso is another artist who's original work was very classic Impressionism in style, and he deliberately developed from that to wildly abstract, because there were things that he wanted his paintings to "say" ..... not just be a pretty image. It's interesting ..... for instance he made faces "flat" like opening out a cardboard box so you can see all it's flaps and joins ...... he put ears facing the front, and both eyes onto a profile image for example.

Art is a journey.

Re: Through One's Eyes

ok thanks heaps @Faith-and-Hope i reall appreciate it! will go an 'update' and see what come of it. not doing much else today so what better time to play around hey.

yes ive realised picasso has a very hmm interesting, unique style of paintings.

Re: Through One's Eyes

also also a quick note of what ive noticed off henry and his posters is that he either makes the centre figure or whatever the main thing is in the photo stand out is to either make the background really bright or a duller grey type colour such as the lady. she stands out cause of her red dress but creamy background

Re: Through One's Eyes
