Re: Carers under 30...

The bull sounds a bit like your anxiety @outlander hopefully the meds will help gate Fergus* in, time is often a factor with meds but it takes more than meds to recover, important to do your bit too, Mr Darcy got given an info sheet about sleep which included tips like turning off lights and electronic devices at an appropriate time, getting up on time with alarm etc

*Fergus = code name for anxiety bull

Would love to hear if you are ever able to add to this site ...

Re: Carers under 30...

yes lets call him Fergus. sounds like a fergus to me @Former-Member

ive been working very hard, i try not to rely on medications but its something that i need to help me be able to at least semi manage on my own.

ive been trying heaps of coping strategies but half of the time i cant get them to work or they dont work.

last night i tried using all the coping strategies i had for 2 hours before i rung a helpline and the helpline told me to just continue the coping strategies and to take care and that was it.

my sleeping routine atm is take meds at about 8ish be in bed by 10 and hopefully alseep by 11. and my alarm is set for 7am everyday so i can try to get into that routine as well.

i dont have caffeine or anything like that after 630, lights are off except one hallway light so we dont trip over but the rest is off.

and most of the time my phone is away after 10 unless its a crappy night

Re: Carers under 30...

I have had to cut caffeine earlier for myself 3pm at the latest but generally stop by lunch @outlander may or may not help you. If I have something on my mind and cannot sleep I remind myself my body is resting even if my brain is but I do not have MI. For a while putting some music on helped Mr D nod off too. I can only tell you what has worked for us...

Re: Carers under 30...

Is tea a form of caffine @Former-Member?
I usually hsve a cup of tea around 8ish while watching some tv

Music helps me too. I usually have my headphones in until im falling asleep and too tired to stay awake.

It doesnt matter if you have MI any advice is good advicr from any perspective 💓💓

Re: Carers under 30...

Believe tea is OK, think it has something in it that counteracts the caffeine in it @outlander

Re: Carers under 30...

ok cool so i can still have my nightly cup of tea @Former-Member

and ill stop whatever i realise has caffine in them by 3pm as well. i dont really have much caffine- maybe a glass of coke about lunch time but thats about it
