@Sophia1 Ouch.. You do sound like you are in so much pain. Geeze I thought you might be on something stronger than paracetamol. Please don't push yourself to reply to me, I understand. Take care of yourself as best you can. 💜💕💛

Hi @Former-Member@Adge
@greenpea hope today is okish for all.
Hello @Maggie @outlander
I have pushed myself to be out for too many hours in one day and then the next....not fully realising how long that I was out...
being around busy shoppers as the sales have started which we discovered when we got there....a bit daunting after so long in a cocoon type environment..even pre operation...
I was on strong painkillers post operation...I weaned myself off them once I came out of the rehabilitation hospital...They caused other complications....I was also extremely confused and emotional...this could have been a combination of everything that happened pre-op...post-op... The strongest I will use now is paracetamol...I am still only at week 12 and recovery is at least 12 months...I have to be as compassionate with myself as I am with others....Very hard to suddenly start putting yourself first or even anywhere on the list after many years of being concerned for everyone else's feelings...
I hope that you can manage to continue to do your cross stitch even if for much briefer periods at a time....I am waiting to progress so that I can join a community art group up here which I found out about...I intend to just visit initially and meet those there...I have been told that they come and go...which sounds like a perfect set up...will be interesting just to see what everyone is doing ...
the winter has definitely arrived now...
wearing lots of layers...scarves....fingerless gloves as I have that reynauds condition....thick socks and ugg boot slippers...
my husband lit the fire for me yesterday afternoon...he borrowed a chainsaw from a friend and chopped up some wood...was still a bit damp inside...some smoke than gradually settled into a beautiful fire....I love real fires....
I loved the photographs outlander....the one of the birds was stunning...not easy to capture them in flight like that...will enjoy seeing more that you can take .....only those that will not identify where you are of course...
my father used to be very interested in photography when he retired...so we saw many photographs of the family dog ...who was only really friendly with my dad....as she posed...then there were close ups of flowers...interesting for the photographer...not so interesting for younger adults ...now is a different story...in fact I kept one of his albums that he made up....in storage with all of my other books!
I sound as though I am whinging....certainly do not mean to...do not want to affect anyone else...so I hope that you both can keep as warm as you possibly can...I am about to get up and stretch...
as always hoping that something makes you smile today...take care...keep in touch if you can

looking after yourself...good to here...
remember look for something to make you smile.....take care

@Sophia1 when I was at uni for my first degree I was an avid reader but by mi has put paid to that atm. I have however read two great books most recently The Dry and Force of Nature by Jane Harper which I really enjoyed and will endeavour to read again. Can thoroughly recommend both.
I will grab one of those books as you suggested. Have a great day Sophia1 xxxx

Hello @Adge @eudemonism
Sorry to read that you are having such extreme pain from your back again...after a longer time of almost being pain free....
do you think that you might have aggravated it...lifting...pulling ...something?
do you have physiotherapy when it flares up?
I would do that when I was working...I also need to keep on moving and stretching regularly...
If it is still lingering and acute do you think that you will see the physiotherapist or doctor for a diagnosis?
Also very good to hear that the MH group contacted you and apologised....So they should....When is your next gathering?
I only managed to get to one carer support for MH group session pre-operation after waiting for about 7 months...appointments would arise...or the meeting had a speaker that would have been of no value for me...that sort of scenario....There were some nice people there....It is about 35 minute drive each way at least....just cannot happen yet...
is this coming friday the night that you spend with your neighbour?
I am actually having a visitor today...she has been waiting to visit for a while....only for a short visit this afternoon...
another visit on thursday from my friend with cancer and her husband briefly also.....
My younger son has been over....my sister and her friend once....that is it...I have just not been able to have visitors..
A bit awkward laying down while people are trying to talk to you...will see how it turns out...
as I say to all...find something to make you smile today...
I am trying to think about what made me smile yesterday...watched an english series about extended families and complications...great...makes me feel far better about ours laugh...
The lady who shares the pool with me on mondays and also the young girl who works there...we all had a conversation about the swim safety courses they have....dry swim safety...swimming in rivers...dams...very interesting...
so they both brought out a smile from within...which is lovely...
You would never catch me swimming in a river or a dam...I know that many children brought up in the country used to years ago...probably still might do so now....I like to see the bottom of the water as in sand at the beach or tiled floor in a pool...I need to know exactly what and who I am sharing the water with....
keep warm and take care

hello @eudemonism
Hope that you are managing to stay warm....
Have you managed to get out at all?
I remember you saying that another dog was annoying mister when you took him for a walk....have you managed to get around that? I hope so...
Do you walk to the shops to do your shopping? or is your nearest supermarket too far away...then of course there is carrying the groceries back as well...
I have seen a few men walking with bags or pushing shopping bags on wheels....
have you been watching any of the world soccer? Australia did well to score a goal playing against France...just getting into the world cup is an achievement...
How about football ...do you have a team that you support?
stay warm....stay safe...find one thing to smile at each day....
share with me what makes you smile...it really is an interesting exercise....
