Hi @outlander
It's really great to read that you are planning the house for yourself after all this time - choices - choices and more choices and they can be yours and your Pops
I bet he will be much better now both of you have all this space
From my own experience I know that you need to get your Mum's stuff out of the place before you can really see what you want - and when it comes to colours - I remember an on-line game I played for a couple of days and that was to dress a manikin in different kinds and colours of clothes - maybe you can find an app that shows rooms you can decorate to see what kinds of colours too - just an idea
But you will feel different having all the space and the privacy to plan your own life - it's great to come here this morning and read that you are thinking about all of this already
Well done - I am so happy for you

Imagine being able to lie on YOUR couch or sit in YOUR chairs to watch YOUR choice of TV or movies
I love my life they way it is picking what I like to do -
My guess is to go for solid wood furnishings - I have a solid wood desk that was among my first purchases when I was young - I needed a desk to study when I was at night school - and I ordered two - my little sis saw the ad in the paper and liked it and wanted one too - so I told Mum I would order two and not to tell little sis so she got a huge surprise when two turned up and Dad painted hers and varnished mine and I have my desk to this day - and it is still varnished the way Dad did it
Regardless - you can think about this as they move our - I guess getting up so early to take the kids to school will be part of the freedom deal but I think your Mum can pay for the petrol - after all - it pays her to be able to work while you fetch and carry the kids - you can peacefully suggest this after you have worked out how much petrol it all takes
This is so good - and talk to your Pop about the furnishings too - maybe he will chip in for the cost - who knows
