The book is called "the storyteller and his three daughters" by Lian Hearn. It is funny, quirky and light-hearted and exotic, so a lovely escapist read.
I have had many periods where I could not concentrate and settle my thoughts enough to read, @Sans911 It went on for almost 10 years. It was awful and why I focussed on poetry or religious uplifting and inspirational phrases. I could not read more than a paragraph. For a bookworm like me, it was a huge loss.

@Appleblossomi would much rather be outside not curled up on the lounge or on the chair watching pointless movies . at least the teenager went out one less to worry about the youngest has been ok.
if i had of know others were still up i prob wouldnt still been online too. didnt sleep, much rather talking to people here than playing phone games
