A long rave

Re: A long rave

@eth  The full moon ritual sounds interesting. I love earthy things, anything natural I think. Stars and sky fascinate me with its vast expanse of not knowing what's  really up there. My friend bought me some myrrh and frankinsense at Christmas, haven't used it yet. Hope you have a goodish day.

@Mazarita You might be asleep atm, I hope so. I also hope you enjoyed the art exhibition last night. Well done for braving the car ride and the crowd. My last ride to an appointment was a nightmare. I get a community car lift into appointments as I don't have a license, good news for other drivers. The driver arrived with two others in the car already and I got in the back with another passenger. Then the nightmare began. He was just about asleep and the end of my seatbelt was behind him. I'm so not a touchy person, so tried the trick of holding the front belt in place. Humm, the car kept buzzing for connection and I knew if I didn't connect the driver would be leaning over me, panic. Anyway, connection did happen. Then I spent the whole trip trying to figure out disconnection. Oh the simple life. I hope you have a goodish day.

Morning everyone. Smiley Happy

@CheerBear, we were swamped with fog for a section of our drive home last night, after going to an art exhibition opening in a country town about an hour's drive from here. We took a wrong turn coming back and ended up surrounded by high cane fields on a small dark road. Then the fog descended and we wondered for a moment if we'd wandered into a dream. Then we took a lucky right turn and ended up back on the main highway (no fog). Momentary adventure! Fog is a rare sight where we live.

@eth, I quoted your astrological information to a friend last night at the exhibition. Thanks for the conversation piece! Both C and my close friend are into astrology. I like it too, but am not a devotee. Still, I think any ancient knowledge might have something to it. So I'm always curious, and it's fun too. I know that astrological calendar you have on the wall. For a couple of years I used to have them on the wall too, partly because I like the look of them! Wicca I am more drawn to, though I don't do spells. I love the four elements ritual you did. I like how Wicca is based in the earth, the sun, the moon and other tangible aspects of life. Great sleep here last night. I think it may have something to do with the second new med I have started.

@greenpea, I see we have both changed back into our favourite avatars. High five on keeping up the full moon party spirit on the forum! Did you get a walk or run this morning?

@Maggie, the stars and moon in the country last night were great to see. It was misty because there was cloud cover. The moon shone blurrily but still bright and in full view, and the stars appeared in gaps between clouds. Nothing like being in the country to see the sky better. I did really enjoy the art opening last night. The people there were very friendly and easy to talk with and the art (photographs) lovely. I was very anxious on the drive down. Used some meditation learning to help me get through it, and looked out the side window most of the time to avoid having to watch the road and other cars. The drive back was quite lovely though. Big highway almost deserted and not much traffic back in the city either. I wouldn't mind driving if there were a lot less cars on the road! I still have a licence, but haven't driven for many years due to my car phobia. I hope your day is okay or better.

Hi @outlander, how are you feeling today? I love the inspirational images you posted here and in your thread this morning. Suggests to me that you may be bouncing back a bit from the setback a couple of days ago. Hope so, and if not, hope that comes very soon to you.

Hi @Exoplanet, felt your 'like' this morning. Hope to read more of how you are when you next post. Hope it's a lovely day for you, free from fencing hassles. Maybe if it's getting too much, it might be worth taking a day off from worrying about it? That way you could write to us more (selfish motive, hehe).

Hope it's a good day for all. Heart

Re: A long rave

Hi @Mazarita  So glad to hear that you enjoyed your adventure last night.  Even getting lost.  Yes the night sky when we get out of town is spectacular, especially a full moon through fog - gorgeous.  I watched it for a while here last night too - clouds moving swiftly and the moon peeping bright and round every now and then, but still glowing even when through cloud cover.  Loved it.

Also really happy to hear you are sleeping better with the new med.  That must feel like a real breakthrough.

PS I don't do spells either but find ritual can be really good for closing a chapter of life, acknowledging completion/fruition and focusing on future goals.  What my mother would call praying but I just call it wishing.  I don't address particular deities, there are so many and it's not up to me to define them, or even whether or not they exist.  I kind of combine pagan/first nations/wiccan concepts into my own mish mash.

Re: A long rave

@eth, I wonder if we were watching the full moon at the same time. That would have been an extra good 'snap'. Smiley Happy

Yep, I'm with you on being less interested in wiccan deities (not really into deities at all). Rituals I sometimes do, but mostly just by lighting candles these days. I did once go through a big long ritual to make a psychic healing remedy (first and only experience of doing that). The ritual included collecting rain water in a crystal bowl, dressing in a ritual way, taking the potion to the beach at dawn to be infused by the sun all day, then collecting it at sunset. Don't know if it worked as a remedy, but I felt energised by the creative ritual. I think you and I have many common points of interest in that kind of spirituality. I too practise a fair bit of 'wish craft', in a less than formal way. Mish mash is probably how I'd describe things for me too.

Re: A long rave

LOL re:  'wish craft' @Mazarita  That term will stick - I'm going to use it from now on!

Your healing ritual sounds potent.  Probably the most out-there one I ever did  was outside at night, naked, under a full moon, alone,  washing myself down to the ground then back up again.  I was told to do it to centre myself (probably manic at the time) by a male teacher.  20:20 hindsight tells me he was probably watching!  I wrote a poem about him some years later - his influence still getting to me.  He performed several rituals with me and claimed to be a very high level member of the iluminati - he was probably masquerading and/or mad (!) but it was intensely powerful at the time.

Re: A long rave

Funny thing is, @eth, I remember that term 'wish craft' from that old TV show, 'Bewitched'. It was the form of magic displayed by the child, 'Tabatha' in that show. I get my Wiccan learning in high places, lol. Your naked ritual story is interesting to hear, along with the account of the 'teacher' you had at that time. C is into all sorts of esoteric stuff and is down on the Illuminati. Also not into 'light work'. He follows a middle road. I've learned quite a bit from him. Some it is crazy too, lol.

Re: A long rave

C sounds like a really interesting person @Mazarita.  I sometimes envy your companionship situation.  I think it would suit me well too.

The guy I referred to used to live directly up the hill from me and one time he said to me "I'm cultivating you for my next wife".  That was it for me - finished the connection.  He had a wife at the time!  I could tell many stories about sessions I had with him.    I was wide open to what he was t/pr-eaching at the time.  We would sit on a black kid rug and he would annoint me with something that burned on my forehead - probably just chilli oil!  Thank goodness I never became intimate with him.  I don't want to dig out the poem just now but might share it sometime.

There have been many other teachers along my path, some of them just as out there as that guy.  These days I keep myself much more grounded more of the time - but as you know I get more into it all when hypomanic/manic. Like last year.

Back to the here and now ........  do you have plans for today?  I'll be going for a walk with bro in a little while so if I go suddenly that's why.
